Meet the Couture 2012 Spring Interns

by Couture Events on February 12, 2012

We are so excited to have such an incredible intern team for 2012!

Please give them a warm welcome! You will see them at weddings, events, and mixers. They are now an essential part of the Couture Spring Events. We could not be more honored and privileged to have these amazing girls on our team , each of them personifies COUTURE in every sense of the word!

Meet the Team: Jx3 + A

Meet Jenny :

Hi, I’m Jenny! I’m originally from a small town in Central California, have been living in San Diego for a little over 4 years now and been loving every second of it! I have a passion for the creative things in life and I love to think outside of the box! I enjoy everything from cooking and baking, traveling, hiking, blaring country music in my car to beach runs and baseball games! Go Padres!

I currently have the passion of a 7 year old who has a new dream every day. I dream of  being a baker and owning my own shop, becoming a professional traveler to see the world and now living my dream as a wedding and event planner with Couture Events! I’m incredibly blessed to have this opportunity and I’m so excited to see where this journey is going to take the Couture Team this semester!

A Few of my Favorites:

Book: Under the Tuscan Sun, a dream to eventually check off the bucket list! After spending a month running around Europe last fall I am unconditionally in love with Italy! La Bella Vita!

Store: Anthropologie, especially their home and kitchen section!

T.V Show: I am slightly obsessed with Criminal Minds!

Starbucks Drink: Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte, hot or cold depending on the weather!

Meet Jaquelyn:

I’m originally from LA but moved to San Diego to study Communications at beautiful Point Loma Nazarene University. When I’m able to find some free time, (which seems to be less and less each week) I love to read books at the beach, sing obnoxiously loud in my car, and go dancing with my best friends.

I am so excited for the opportunity to intern with Couture Events, and I hope to learn so much more about the event planning business and all the wonderful things it has to offer!

After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in event planning… be it weddings, hotel coordinator, or whatever else I find that interests me! But I hope to use this experience and future opportunities to reach my dream job of planning award shows like the Oscars and their after parties.

Favorite Starbucks drink: a double chocolaty chip frap. Or a mocha (hot or iced)

Favorite movie: 27 Dresses

Favorite Designer: Steve Madden

Meet Jessica:

I am a senior at the lovely UCSD. My life is hectic yet organized and my planner is one of my best friends, second only to my amazing roommates of course. I absolutely love all things event planning and my love for the organized chaos of it all started my freshman year of college when I was on UCSD’s events board in student council. It continued with my position of Events Coordinator in my amazing sorority, Chi Omega, and my time in the chapter will be ending with planning our annual Chi O Casino, a philanthropy event that will hopefully bring us closer to granting another wish with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

I have a mild obsession with weddings, I would always tell my friends that I would rather play cupid than be in love myself—simply because seeing others in love brings me so much joy. I couldn’t be more ecstatic to be interning for Couture Events. I love seeing the direct results of the work I’ve put into making an event happen and I cannot wait to learn more about this amazing industry from someone I respect so much.

In my free time I love running with my roommates, painting, going on road trips, hiking, and journaling. I absolutely love to travel and adventures are my favorite—from skydiving to parasailing I’ve done it all.

As for the future, I plan on going to South Africa for a year with Cru to work in an AIDS orphanage; I could not be more excited :)

My Favorite Designer: French Connection

Favorite Book: Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala

Favorite TV Show: New Girl

I have an amazing boyfriend named Jeremy who I love very much.. he is my best friend. I am a loud bubbly girl who doesn’t stop at anything to go after what she wants. I do not care what peoples opinions are of me. I try my best in school and I enjoy learning. I think that an education is one of the best ways to further yourself in life. I am nineteen. My birthday is new years day. I love glitter and bright colors, but I tend to wear neutral colors that go with my skin tone. I am taking 21 units this semester. I cant get through a day with out coffee..sometimes its almost a problem. I have an anti social scruffy mutt of a chihuahua named honey. My grandpa “Papa John” just turned 90 years old in September. I want to travel to all seven continents, I adore traveling. So far I have made it to Asia, Europe, North America, and Africa.. three more to go. I recently fell in love with the 1920′s and I wish I was in the Great Gatsby. I love to be creative and sometimes I draw, but im not any good at it. Q&A with our Bride, Faith, by Couture Events:

Q: What was your favorite part of the planning process:

A: My favorite part about the planning process, was the ability to be creative, and work closely with amazing vendors, that helped my ideas truly come to life. I felt blessed to have people working closely with me, who cared as much about my wedding as I did. Finally seeing everything come together towards the end was unbelievable! It was worth all the time and going back and forth on decisions and plans. I had the best time planning my wedding, I wish I could do it all over again!

Q: Tell us about your ceremony!

A: The ceremony was beyond special. There was so much going on that day, and I was anxious and excited just to finally be married to Alex, I could not have imagined a better place to do it. I have always loved La Jolla, but knew I wanted to get married in a church. I loved the La Jolla Presbyterian for it’s location as well as its interior beauty. Blush Botannicals, helped make the church so intimate and beautiful. Saying our vows in front of our closest family, friends, and our Savior, was the best part of day.

Q:Tell us about your reception!

The reception was emotional, fun, and I thought it looked absolutely perfect. Celebrating our marriage at the reception with our favorite people, our favorite music, food, drinks, and seeing all the details come together was amazing. Every part was my favorite, but if I had to choose, I would say my dance with my Dad. It was personal and special, and his support and love means the world to me.

Q: Why did you pick the Darlington House for your reception?

A: The Darlington House speaks for itself. It is GORGEOUS! I loved how private it was. It was a wonderful space, that was perfect for the reception. I fell in love with the brick patios, rose gardens, and vintage old world flare, the moment I stepped into it. It fit my style, and what I wanted my wedding day to look like, I knew it was the place right away!

Q: What was your favorite detail?

A: There were so many details!! I think one of my favorite details of the day, was my bouquet. I really cared what my bouquet looked like! from color, to the size, to the lace wrapping, and it was more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. Blush did an amazing job, and I loved the fact that my moms cameo earrings that she had bought when she was my age, on the ponte vecchio in Florence, were pinned on the handle, it finished off the look.

Q: What was the inspiration for your wedding day?

A:  My inspiration was my trips to Paris, and wanting my color palette to be completely neutral. I wanted it to be vintage, and natural, with touches of glamour. Most importantly, I wanted it to reflect Alex and my style. We wanted to incorporate things that we loved, or that were special to us.

Q: What advice would you give to future brides?

A: My piece of advice would be to really enjoy the process! It only happens once, and it will be over before you know it. It is such a fun time, even though it can be overwhelming. Let your imagination run, be creative, and find a great wedding coordinator!!! Couture Events was an enormous help to me during the planning process, and on my wedding day. I felt much more confident that everything was going to get done, and done well because I was working with such a talented and organized coordinator.

Meet LA Couture Coordinator, Danielle Sidari

by Couture Events on January 25, 2012

That’s right! We are launching Couture Events Los Angeles!

We are now serving from San Diego to LA! We have SoCal covered and we couldn’t be more excited!

Meet Danielle Sidari

Los Angeles Couture Events Coordinator

This is such a special moment to introduce myself as the Couture Events coordinator for the Los Angeles area. Creativity inspires both my personal and professional life, and it feels like a natural fit to do what I love in a city that is truly a hub of creative thought. I am organized, outgoing, and I thrive in any environment where I am allowed to think outside the box. My personal style, whether in fashion or décor, is simple and classic with an eclectic flare, think J.Crew meets Anthropologie.

I was fortunate enough to work with Krystel through her internship program while I was in college, and I quickly discovered that event planning was all the things I imagined it would be, coupled with hard work, endless creativity, and a passion for serving others. Couture Events brings authenticity and excellence to every event and our Couture clients should expect nothing less from this Los Angeles extension. I am blessed for this incredible opportunity, and look forward to the adventures in store!

**A few of my favorite things: reading (current obsession: Cold Tangerines by Shauna Niequist), shopping in the sale section, Pinterest, DIY projects, Blogging, and English Breakfast lattes at Coffee Bean.

We are so excited to have you Danielle and we know you are going to an amazing job with the Couture LA Weddings & Events!
