Couture Inspiration

This gorgeous Beauty and the Beast shoot & proposal took place at the Valentino Estate in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. The bride, Chelsey, LOVES Disney and her boyfriend, Matt, asked Sara France Photography & Couture Events to create an inspiration shoot that would be a disney dream come true for Chelsey! We had so much fun keeping the proposal a secret while making this amazing inspiration a reality!
We could not do it on our own, so we brought in some fabulous vendors to help create this fairytale!

This proposal was featured on Disney Fairytale Weddings Blog!

Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly

Just a little change
Small to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the Beast

Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise

***Little did she know that her ring was sitting right next to her during the whole shoot hidden inside of the bottom book! While she used the top book as a prop to read, she would have never guessed the velvet bookmark on the book below marked the spot  where her ring laid in carved out pages.

THE FAIRYTALE PROPOSAL

He grabbed the red book and dropped to one knee.

She smiles, oh what could this be…

This is the moment she realizes this is a real proposal ( not just for the photo shoot) !

She said YES !!!

IT’S A FAIRYTALE DREAM COME TRUE!

Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Bitter sweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong

This year we were invited to participate in the US Grant Wedding Showcase! We were so honored and beyond excited to participate in this amazing luxury bridal event! We patterned with Blush Botanicals & Concepts Event Design to make our Springtime in Paris inspiration come to life! With beautiful shades of pink, peach, and orange!

Blush Botanicals did such an incredible job with the florals, their crystal candelabras are so incredible and we also adore their new gold candelabras, so we decided to use both! They accented each plate with a gorgeous pink peony, it was the perfect detail! Love these girls and love their work! We are always so honored when we have the chance to work with them!

Concepts Event Design provided the gorgeous white glossy table as well as the shabby chic couches, coffee table, and draping! We absolutely adore this furniture! INCREDIBLE in every way! We can’t wait to work with them again at our next event! Haydee and Federico are amazing to work with, they make sure to take care of their client- customer service is excellent and they have a great eye for event design and spacing, they make sure the event always looks PERFECT!

Photography by Bryan N. Miller Photography! He is awesome and always captures every detail perfectly! Thank you Bryan!!!

We were so honored to be asked to create a gorgeous tabletop at the La Valencia’s LOVE story showcase!

We loved creating our Springtime in Paris tabletop thanks to Lounge Appeal and Posies Flowers! Lounge Appeals furniture is beyond compare, we love everything they make, especially their new Royal Collection, simply stunning! Leigh from Posies is INCREDIBLE, we love her attention to detail, (in each of these arrangements she sprayed the foliage gold), she also is always coming up with something new and innovative, not to mention she is a total sweetheart! Hope you love our tabletop creation as much as we do!

Huge THANK YOU to Aaron of TRUE PHOTOGRAPHY for capturing everything perfectly! His work is always exquisite!

We recently shared our styling tips on Estate Weddings and Events blog (as Krystel is their new guest blogger! ) But just in case you missed our 2012 styling tips, we thought we would share them with you on our blog too!

Couture’s Top Five Wedding Styling Tips for 2012

1. Bohemian is Beautiful

Kate Moss proved this with her gorgeous bohemian styled wedding attire. She has set the trend for 2012 as we see many of our brides asking for light, soft, and airy accents along with sheer, barely there fabrics and delicate details. Some of our favorite elements from Kate’s wedding are her Juliet cap veil and the white flower garland headpieces on the bridal party, so boho chic.

2. Muted Colors are IN!

Nudes and blushes for everything including wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, florals, and makeup. Yes, you heard us, this year we are seeing more colored wedding gowns in muted tones. We are also seeing many brides choosing muted bridesmaid dresses, a nude wedding lip, and going with soft blush and cream florals.

*Tip: If you decide on a muted color gown, DO NOT choose muted or nude bridesmaid dresses as this will only wash everyone out. Remember you want to stand out on your special day, no matter if it is white or a beautiful blush.

3. Lighting is Everything

Lighting is the single best way to transform any venue from ordinary to extraordinary! In 2012 creative lighting will take precedence in the wedding decorand budget. We will be seeing more chandeliers, up-lighting, gobos, market lights, and candles, all of which help create an incredible ambiance for your guests to enjoy.

4. Glam is Back

While we have had so much fun with the rustic styling, we see that Glam is coming back and we couldn’t be more excited.  Whether iconic black & white, gold and silver accents, or just the sparkle (crystals, rhinestones, glitter, and shimmer), we are seeing many brides bring some bling into their wedding. Every detail is becoming more glamorous in both vintage and modern wedding themes, brides are embracing the GLAM look.

5. Long Banquet Tables are Luxurious

We will be seeing many long rectangle tables with pretty runners and assorted sized centerpieces. Round is out, brides no longer want just one centerpiece, they want assortments of bottles, vases, candles, and florals at all different heights to entertain the eye and bring dimension to the tables. They also like the idea of family style banquet tables, creating a more intimate feel.

“Gone away is the bluebird, here to stay is a new bird

He sings a love song, as we go along

Walking in a winter wonderland…”

At Couture we hold a few key words in mind when styling weddings and our holiday tables: glamour, class, beauty, and whim. We can almost hear the photos singing a fabulous mashup of Fergie’s “Glamorous” and the Christmas classic, “Walking in a Winter Wonderland.” Set inside the Culy Warehouse we hung a backdrop of light bulbs against an unfinished wall. The contrast of soft and bright against the wall of rough and textured made for a perfect setting, creating a room that was all softly aglow. Our gorgeous brides are dressed in Bliss Bride’s winter wedding gowns and are accompanied by Couture Events very own snow-furred pup, Bruiser.

The table, benches, sofas, and chairs came from one of our favorite furniture rental companies, Lounge Appeal. The invitations made in icy hues, elegant cursive, and accented with silk ribbon and a crystal broach set the tone for an affair to be remembered. We also placed a name card at each setting to welcome the guests to their chair. The gorgeous centerpieces made of beautiful winter white flowers mixed with crystals and delicately glistening silver leaves. Crystal candelabras and shimmering candlesticks, timeless silver dinnerware and white glitter made for a truly winter chic table. To top it all off we add some snow (*glitter*) our favorite and final touch. Be dazzled and enjoy, and don’t hold back an ounce of cheer this holiday season. FROST YOURSELVES, your holidays, and your wedding!
