Truly, Madly, Wonderfully Yours ~ Alice in Wonderland Inspiration

by krystel on July 13, 2010

I wanted it to be a REAL Wonderland… something every bride would want to step into and that they can create for their own wedding, bridal shower, or engagement photo session. I wanted pastels, spectacular florals, to bring the inside outside, and most of all fun, whimsical, and delicious details. I wanted to find the perfect photographers to capture this spectacular inspiration. Shelby and Taryn from Joielala Photography were the ideal match with their fanciful style. I also collaborated with Erika from Delphine, an amazing invitation designer, to create all of our paper products including invitations, menus, place cards, etc. They did an amazing job with themed wording in all of the stationary.

The Vintage Rabbit handmade many of the accessories for Alice including bracelets and the paper florals. The floral necklace was from Anthropologie. The stunning satin gown is Cecile by ElizabethFillmore and the lace-embroidered gown is by Angel Sanchez, both are from M Bride located in La Jolla, California. The whimsical feathered hair accessory was handmade by Natalija at Radokri.

We created 3 Settings:

Tea Time Table Top: For this table setting, we gathered several old books and painted them in the perfect pastel colors. I wanted a lacey, vintage, and girlie feel. I collected teacups from friends and family to stack and stagger. The Floral Department created stunning, oversized arrangements to flood the table with color and unusual flowers that you might find in wonderland. Three personalized place settings were made for Alice, Rabbit, and Hatter, each with their own fanciful color scheme and escort cards.

Dessertopia: Creating this table full of sugar was truly a dream come true! I have a sweet tooth. OK, sometimes I eat candy for breakfast! We brought the dessert bar to fruition with a mossy bed of cupcakes, beautiful blooming lollipops, and rock candy among the flowers. Cupcake Love made the deliciously decorated cupcakes and The French Gourmet provided us with the whimsical cake.  It was the little special touches that made this dessert table so **scrumptious**.

Rabbit Hole Living: Here we wanted to create an Alice get-away, a place of comfort mixed with exploration. I imagined a setting where Alice would feel at home, where she would be able to express her creativity, and share in time with those she loved. It was filled with white bunnies, globes, and teacups. When the fleet of white fluff showed up I was **eeeking** with excitement. They were so cute and ended up being the perfect addition to our rabbit hole. In a real wedding this would be a place of relaxation and enjoyment for the guests, a lounge of sorts for cocktail hour.

Hope this leaves you INSPIRED!!!!
